The Italian breakfast is one of the few in Europe to consist of sweet foods, in contrast to the classic “continental” breakfast, which is characterized by mainly salty foods. In fact, if in Italy the traditional breakfast consists of coffee and cappuccino, in the rest of Europe it is customary to eat ham, eggs, bread, milk and an orange juice.

Depending on the traditions and customs of the area, the breakfast varies considerably from north to south of the peninsula: as regards the traditional ones, in Sicily, breakfast is made up of Brioche and Granita, while moving around the peninsula you have the ” coffee and pastarella ”from southern Italy, and“ brioche e caffè ”from the north.

Of course these are only the typical breakfasts of the area, which are consumed once in a while, except in specific cases, while the real Italian breakfast is made up of many different foods, combined with each other according to taste.
