Italian Riviera what to do and see: Discover the Cinque Terre

by Staff

The Ligurian Riviera “Italian Riviera” is the stretch of marine coast – or riviera – that overlooks the Ligurian Sea and extends from the Principality of Monaco to Capo Corvo (Province of La Spezia).

This territory crosses all four Ligurian provinces of Savona, Imperia, Genoa and La Spezia, for a total length of about 330 km.

The Ligurian Riviera is divided into the Riviera di Levante, east of Genoa-Voltri, the northernmost point of the Ligurian Sea at the mouth of the river Leira. It therefore also includes the city of Genoa and ends at the gulf of La Spezia, and Riviera di Ponente, west of Genoa-Voltri up to the western limit of the Monegasque principality. Among the maritime and commercial airports of this stretch there is the port of Genoa – among the most important in the Mediterranean Sea – and the ports of Savona-Vado and La Spezia.

The Best Wines of  Italian Riviera

TOP FIVE OF LIGURIA
A few lands laboriously torn to woods and hills, yet Liguria has a production of all respect for quantity and quality. There are 11 of them, including Sciacchetrà delle Cinque Terre and Rossese di Dolceacqua. Particularly attentive to organic, the Ligurian producers know how to enhance the local grapes, from Vermentino to the pigato. The crowns obtained in this edition are 9, we see together the best five ever.
